Lesson 7. Drawing Symmetrical Objects
1. Begin by drawing a vertical line in the middle of the page, this will help to maintain symmetry and allow you to easily judge distance and composition.
Begin as always by laying down basic shapes to compose the sketch, a large circle will do to represent the main body of the tea pot. Followed by small circles for the lid and a simple rectangle for the handle.
2. Once you are happy with the composition, and the object is perfectly symmetrical, with equal mass on either side of the dividing line and identical curves/contours. You can then start to define the final lines and add additional details (such as the base).
3. Finally. You can begin to erase initial sketch lines and tidy up your lines. While keeping constant attention to your light source you can begin to add lighting/shading and additional details.
